For 30 years, Lurie Cancer Center’s Cancer Survivors’ Celebration Walk & 5K has been a source of hope and inspiration for people who have faced or are facing cancer. Held on National Cancer Survivors Day, this community event is a unique opportunity for cancer survivors, supporters, scientists and health professionals to connect, celebrate milestones and make an impact on the future of cancer care.
We're excited to run, walk and celebrate together on National Cancer Survivors Day! Register by May 5 to receive your T-shirt before the event.
Highlights include:
- A non-competitive walk or chip-timed 5K race along the lakefront
- Special 30th anniversary T-shirts
- Music, entertainment, inspiring speakers and Dedication Wall
- Refreshments and activities for the family
Net proceeds and funds raised from the event will go toward advancing groundbreaking cancer research and treatment at Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center of Northwestern University at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. We hope you will join the donors, sponsors and fundraising teams who support our efforts by creating a personalized fundraising page when you register. Fundraising is optional, and no minimum is required.
New This Year
Purchase a Star to honor and celebrate cancer survivors! You can choose to have a pre-written message on your Star or just a name. The Stars will be placed in our Star Field at the event. Together, the Stars will represent and celebrate all those people impacted by cancer and provide hope to those who are currently going through treatment.
Recognizing Our Top Fundraisers
Also new to the event this year is the addition of the Stars Club! This designation is reserved for those who raise $500 or more. These top fundraisers will have access to a special tent on the day of the event.
